Overview

In this key role, you will be responsible for taking all orders and serving all meals to residents. You will be trained how to properly set tables serve meals, clean, and turn over the dining room. They must have the ability to communicate with residents, families, staff, and the public.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of computer and point of sales systems.

Language Skills

Ability to define and solve problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in statistical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 Services:

  • Take all meal orders from residents.
  • Submit all orders using the point of sales system (POS).
  • Serve all meals to residents.
  • Beverage service, take beverage orders, and refill as needed.
  • Continue to wait on all guests when present in the dining room.
  • Switch over dining room between meals including taking dishes to the kitchen, resetting tables, restocking, cleaning the dining room, and folding napkins.
  • Linen service, pull linen, and replace as needed.
  • Attends and participates departmental/community meetings as required.
  • Establishes and maintains exemplary standards for department appearance ensures company policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to all safety risk management protocol and programs.
  • Maintain a positive attitude towards guests.
  • Exhibits courtesy, compassion, and respect to resident families, visitors, administrators, and coworkers.
  • Performs other duties and functions as directed.
  • Maintain proper sanitation in all sections of the dining area.
  • Room delivery as ordered.
  • Open and close dining room as directed.
  • Performs other duties and functions as directed.
  • Occasionally may include covering housekeeping.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to blood borne pathogens. The environment characteristic of a facility in which healthcare is provided to the frail elderly.  The noise is usually at moderate level.
