Vicinia Gardens Intermediate Care is an early- to mid-stage dementia care provider in Fenton, offering care for seniors who are not entirely independent. Our facility is custom-designed with private suites and offers a safe, secure and nurturing environment for residents.

At Vicinia, each resident's life journey is honored and respected. Our highly-trained staff engages residents through coordinated onsite and offsite social activities that foster their physical, mental and emotional well-being. We prepare onsite fresh and nutritious meals daily and our 24-hour care team help residents quickly feel like they are at home at Vicinia Gardens Memory Care.

Vicinia Gardens Memory Care of Fenton

Vicinia Gardens Memory Care is a mid- to late-stage dementia care provider in Fenton offering specialized care to our residents, while honoring and celebrating their later years. Our facility is custom-designed with safe, private accommodations for residents with Alzheimer's and dementia. Our highly-trained staff engage residents through coordinated onsite and offsite social activities that connect seniors to our Vicinia family and our Fenton community.

Excellent Activities

We offer structured activities daily that engage and support our residents physically, mentally and emotionally. These include group games, chair yoga classes, movies, crafts, pet visits, musical performers and religious services. We also have an outdoor garden at our Fenton facility that is maintained by our seniors. You'll often see our Vicinia Gardens bus in the community, taking seniors on field trips to the casino, movies, restaurants and senior centers.

Compassionate Staff

Kelly Steffey and her husband Steve have been managing our community for more than five years. Their dedication and commitment to our residents are unmatched in our area and have earned us the sterling reputation for service and amenities that we enjoy today! We have a caring and compassionate staff that is trained in senior and memory care and is onsite 24-7 to support our seniors' individual care plans.

Management Team

Kelly Steffey - Manager

Kelly is a licensed Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience including critical care at McLaren and Visiting Nurse services. She has obtained a Bachelor of Health Care Administration from the University of Michigan-Flint as well as a certified dementia care manager and trainer. Kelly is also part Owner of Assisti Care, LLC, our management company. At Assisti Care, she oversees the licensing and management of our facilities. Kelly's close, compassionate relationship with our residents and directors makes her the perfect leader of our medical team.

Catrina - Resident Director

Catrina was born and raised in Janesville, Wi. She is a part of a large Catholic family, oldest of 6 children. She worked for Mercy Health Systems as a CNA, Phlebotomist, and MA. Relocating to MI with her husband of 26 years and 2 children she started her journey into "senior care". She worked as an Admission Director for 6 years which sparked her passion to bring individualized care to seniors. June of 2013, she opened the first Vicinia Gardens community, Assisted Living, as Resident Director. She feels blessed to build a Neighborhood that is committed to Senior life full time! In 2018, Catrina became a certified Assisted Living Director through MALA. She serves on the committee for GCCOA, AFC Providers and Fenton Chamber promoting senior advocacy. Catrina values spending time with her family and friends, cheering for the Green Bay Packer and UW Badgers.

Ali Bickford - Resident Director

Ali is from Linden, Michigan. Having lived here all her life she attended the University of Michigan - Flint, where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Ali started at Vicinia Gardens in 2013 as one of the original Resident Aides for the grand opening of our assisted living. During that time Ali showed leadership qualities and a passion for seniors that allowed her to effortlessly train and oversee new staff members and gain medical knowledge. Upon her college graduation she moved into a professional role as Resident Director of Memory Care, as she could not imagine a more fulfilling career. Ali brings a unique prospective to our management team with her academics and experience in caregiving. She is excited to continue to grow with a community that recognizes the value of seniors.

Megan Rheingans - Resident Director

Megan grew up the youngest of three in Fenton. Attending CMU, she earned a spot on the Dean's List and an Associate's Degree. She then enrolled at Baker College to pursue a career in American Sign Language Interpreting. Megan became an Activity Director at Vicinia Gardens in 2016, her passion to enrich resident's lives and help residents feel connected to the community, made it easy to promote her to Resident Director of the newest building on campus, Intermediate Care. She enjoys her current role, especially when she sees residents excel in their activities of daily living because of the services and social life that is offered at Vicinia Gardens. Megan brings an illuminating smile and upbeat personality to her management role. Megan treasures her time crafting and spending time with her dogs, Dale and Norman.
