Living Life to the Fullest
Our assisted living community is committed to exceeding all expectations with regards to our professional staff, senior care, our facilities, activities, and most important the enjoyment residents have in being part of our community. We strive to devise methods that will incorporate each person’s talents and skills into their daily activities and keep them interested, stimulated, and nurtured for the length of their stay.
Vicinia Gardens residents enjoy a wide variety of customized activities that will include hands-on crafts, games (visual & audio), movies, exercise, reading, and outside entertainment. Our goal is always to offer a variety of activities to promote health and happiness, and we achieve that goal by creating individualized living plans that are tailor-made to each one of our guests.
A Brief History of Vicinia Gardens
Vicinia Gardens opened the assisted living in 2012, with the memory care opening shortly after that. Our newest community the intermediate care opened in 2016. Our current ownership has been managing our community since our grand opening.
Our facilities are found on both the east and west side of Lower Michigan. Fenton is our east side location, consisting of three new state-of-the-art facilities. Our west side location is found in Otsego, just south of Grand Rapids. Each is capable of meeting the needs of individuals desiring near-total independence to those wanting memory care assistance.
The staff at Vicinia Gardens ensures that our residents are as comfortable and happy as possible. We hire people who have positive charismas and outgoing attitudes. More importantly, we employ individuals who have a heart for serving others, and live our mission:
“To act as the advocate for each and every resident, allowing each individual a healthy, comfortable, and dignified quality of life while promoting socialization and human relationships.”
At Vicinia Gardens, we go out of our way to enrich the daily lives of our residents. We train all of our personnel to care for seniors and attend to their needs. In addition, we give continual guidance and teaching to our staff on how to care for all residents in a variety of life stages.
Kelly Steffey, R.N., B.S., C.D.P., became a nurse more than 20 years ago and is certified as a Dementia Practitioner and Trainer. She opened Vicinia Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care in 2012. Today, our current ownership has been managing our community for more than 5 years.
